Grand Trine

A Grand Trine is a pattern in the chart when three planets form "trine" (120 degree) aspects with each other. A true Grand Trine is when all three planets are in the same element (water, air, earth or fire) in the three separate houses involved. If three lines were drawn to each of the corresponding planets, it would form a nearly or exact equilateral triangle.

A Grand Trine is three planets each in trine to the other two; a complete third harmonic syndrome; perfect equilibrium and balance that reveal great talent, ease or harmony, usually all in one element (earth, air, fire, or water); often a static, passive, inert structure not promoting the growth that confronting the problems of the hard aspects does - for this reason the ancients used to think of the Grand Trine as evil or malefic because these aspects can make us lazy and then we do not grow.
