Native Americans who live within the boundaries of the current United States (consisting of the indigenous folks of Alaska and Hawaii) are maded of many, unique people, bands and ethnic groups, several of which make it through as intact, sovereign countries. The term "Native American" has been taken on by major papers and some academic groups, yet does not traditionally include Native Hawaiians or particular Alaskan Natives, such as Aleut, Yup'ik, or Inuit peoples.
Since the end of the 15th century, the movement of Europeans to the Americas has actually led to centuries of dispute and modification between Old and New World cultures.
